Venton Vean is something special among luxury B&Bs. Located close to Penzance’s town centre, this is a sumptuous boutique guest house. The period property has been treated to inspired redesign, to offer guests a unique, inspired environment.

There are five rooms, each of which has its own design elements and luxurious furnishings. From room one’s Indian bench in the bay window, to the original cast iron fireplace of room two, to the reclaimed Savoy Hotel ‘antler’ hanging hooks of room three, there’s no doubt that Venton Vean is out to tickle the senses of savvy contemporary travellers.

Sleep on goose-down pillows, beneath a goose-down duvet which covers the 400 thread Egyptian linen of every luxury king-size mattress. Borrow from the in-house library an HBO box-set and watch it on a flat-screen TV. Make use of a free wi-fi connection and the iPod docking-station radio-alarm system. All rooms also have a luxury tea and coffee hospitality tray. In each en-suite bathroom, perhaps with marble flooring, you’ll find Pure Nuff Stuff eco-friendly hand-made products.

Naturally for a place of taste and style, there is no compromising when it comes to food. Not only will you have a choice of preserves made on the premises, but Venton Vean also makes their own muesli, yoghurt and muffins. There is a range of cooked breakfasts. Have a full English made from fine local produce, or perhaps have a spicy Mexican or Spanish breakfast. Everything from smoked salmon with a poached duck egg, to homemade salt caramel banana and hazelnut pancakes are on offer. With a bit of notice, special diets can be catered for.
